Image Bank - Patterns

These three images are an example of the patterns which can be found in man made products. They vary in their patterns as the fencing pattern shows the way in which the wires have been manipulated into the repeating sequence which creates the recurring triangular shape. The pattern in the building reveals the inner part of the building, the square shapes are all of a similar size which shows that when they are going to be repeated they will be the same size which will bring structure to the repetition of the squares, the way the squares have been placed create an illusion which make it look 3d, when it is on a 2d surface. The patterns in the trainers are both floral and colourful, although there is no structure to the pattern, the flower design is still repeated all over the shoe which creates the final product.

The next three images are an example of patterns which can be found in a natural environment. The butterfly wings have a very distinctive pattern of very bright colours and designs which will be symmetrical to the other wing. The black in the pattern makes the wings more bold and brings out the orange in the wings. The patterns in the peacock feathers are the same on each feather, the colours are similar so they all complement each other. The pattern left in the sand is a very natural curvy line, this is from the waves which means that every day there will be a different pattern left in the sand.
