My definition - The angle of something which makes it look like there is more than one dimension to it.
This image shows depth as it shows the rail way track getting smaller as it goes into the distance. It also shows depth as it is focused on the beginning of the track which is in clear focus and the rest of the track is less clear, this shows depth as it shows there is more to the scene than what its focused on.
This image represents depth well as the camera focuses on the first bowling ball but you can see that there are other balls in the shot.

This image is good because it not only shows depth in the railway tracks but in the beams which the bridge is made of.The light coming from the rear of the image gives a natural, dusky look to the image which creates the needed effect to show it is 3d.
