Work Diary - Colour

Evaluation of colour session -In our second session, we were sent out to take images of colour around the college campus. As I didn't take many images on college, I went home and used my camera to capture images of colour in my house and garden.

This is one of the images that I took in my garden. I like the way the grey/red colour of the Buddha contrasts with the brown wood and colour of the pebbles under it. I like the way the Buddha isn't just one colour, I think that because it is both grey and red it brings more depth to the statute and makes it look more dated than it actually is.

This is another one of the images I took in my garden. It shows a brown wooden bench with a blue pattern cushion and a purple pillow. I think this presents colour well as there is a range of colours which all complement each other. Also as the sun is shining it has made the image naturally brighter and it has added a few shadows to the image which adds both depth and warmth.

Progression -  If i was to redo the session i would use an effect called selective colour as i feel that this emphasizes the colours. One example of this would be one i found online, it is showing a contrast of colored smarties in the palm of someones hand and i like the effect this has.
